From 21–23 May, Messe Berlin transformed into a sprawling ecosystem of innovation, investment and cross-border collaboration. With over 40,000 attendees, more than 2,500 exhibitors and representation from 100+ countries, the event delivered a bold vision: to position Europe not just as a participant in global tech, but as a powerhouse for pioneering change.
At the core of GITEX Europe’s mission was a clear directive—fuse deep tech with actionable policy, commercial scale and sustainability. With themes spanning from AI and cybersecurity to GreenTech, quantum computing and data sovereignty, the event tackled both the promises and the pitfalls of digital transformation at scale.
Europe's €200 billion bet on becoming the AI continent
A standout announcement came with the unveiling of the EU’s InvestAI initiative, backed by a €200 billion investment package. This bold move includes plans to establish 13 AI factories and 5 gigafactories across the continent. The objective: triple data centre capacity in seven years and future-proof the digital economy. A complementary AI Continent Action Plan was also introduced, cementing Europe’s ambition to lead the AI race—not just in adoption but in innovation, regulation and infrastructure.
The tone of urgency was matched by thought leadership. AI pioneer Geoffrey Hinton, often dubbed the "Godfather of AI", warned of the existential risks of artificial general intelligence (AGI), with particular concern for agentic systems capable of autonomous decision-making. His keynote sparked widespread media coverage and reignited debates about ethics, regulation and the role of human oversight in next-generation AI systems.
A vision for deep tech aligned with climate responsibility
Quantum computing took centre stage at the GITEX Quantum Expo, where Europe’s €7 billion investment in quantum tech underscored long-term commitment to scientific leadership. Industry leaders including IBM’s Alessandro Curioni showcased the practical convergence of quantum and AI—a pairing increasingly seen as essential for next-level problem solving in science, finance and defence.
The conversation around sustainability was equally strong. GITEX’s Green Impact zone presented climate-focused technologies from energy-efficient server cooling systems to carbon-reducing infrastructure for hyperscale data centres. The push for energy-conscious IT was not just a trend, but a demand from enterprise buyers and public sector organisations alike, especially in line with Europe’s climate-neutral goals for 2050.
From secure compute to digital trust
With the explosion of AI-driven infrastructure came renewed focus on cybersecurity. At Cyber Valley Europe, speakers including Arkadiy Ukolov of Ulla Technology sounded the alarm over the increasing gap between AI capabilities and enterprise security readiness. As new vulnerabilities emerge from generative AI, deepfake fraud, and agentic automation, pan-European coordination on digital defence was widely discussed.
The sessions also explored how to balance sovereignty and innovation—particularly in relation to data residency, privacy frameworks and ethical AI regulation. It was clear that digital trust will be as foundational as compute power in shaping the next wave of transformation.
Disruptors meet investors at North Star Europe
At North Star Europe, more than 1,400 startups converged with 800+ investors to pitch, partner and plan their next phase of growth. The highlight was the Supernova All-Stars Pitch Competition, which offered €100,000 in equity-free funding and brought forward cutting-edge innovation across biotech, edge AI, fintech and climate tech.
Investor roundtables and matchmaking events underlined the strategic intent behind GITEX’s European expansion—to ensure that bold ideas are not just incubated, but funded and deployed at scale. The cross-pollination between established tech giants and emerging challengers was palpable throughout the three-day event.
Showcasing innovation that powers real-world performance
We, alongside our partners, presented the latest AI, HPC and data infrastructure solutions to the global tech community at GITEX Europe. Our booth featured a range of products designed to meet the needs of high-throughput, energy-efficient and data-intensive workloads:
It was a fantastic opportunity to engage with technology leaders, partners and innovators—and to demonstrate how Boston’s engineering expertise continues to support AI and HPC performance at the highest level.
GITEX Europe 2025 didn’t just extend the GITEX brand—it redefined Europe’s position on the world tech stage. With deep investments in AI, a clear sustainability mandate and a serious approach to cybersecurity and quantum, the event offered more than inspiration. It delivered alignment. Between infrastructure and intelligence. Between innovation and ethics. Between performance and responsibility.
